Important Information about the Main Exam on Monday, March 10
Written on 06.03.2025 14:25 by Sarah Sterz
Hello all,
The first exam of Ethics for Nerds will take place on Monday, March 10. Please read the following carefully:
- Check your assigned lecture hall and seat on your personal status page (scroll down to see the section “Exam Seats”). Only students who have an assigned seat can partake in the exam. If you think that you should have a seat but your personal status page does not show one, then please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
- We will start at 9:45 am with the exam. Please be in front of your assigned lecture hall at 9:30 at the very latest. Students who are late might be denied entry to the lecture hall and therefore cannot participate in the exam.
- The exam will take 120 minutes.
- You will need your student ID card, as well as a pen with indelible black or blue ink, preferably a ballpoint pen. Fountain pen ink that can be erased with ink eradicators ("Tintenkiller") is not indelible and therefore not allowed to be used in the exam.
- You may bring one handwritten, double-sided DIN-A4 cheat sheet. Dictionaries are not allowed unless your dictionary is accepted by the staff member in your lecture hall before the start of the exam.
- You will be given your printed summaries along with your exam. Please check the summary pdf on your personal status page once again, as some of the pdfs had to be re-rendered. (Sorry about the inconvenience!)
- If you bring food, make sure that it's not noisy or smelly.
- For your convenience, the first page of the exam document has been uploaded to the materials section of the dcms already. This is such that you can familiarize yourself which the exam rules, if you want to (but you do not have to).
If you have any urgent questions regarding the organizational details of the exam, please get in touch with me in time.
See you on Monday!
Sarah
Two more hints:
- Only answer the exam question, and don't write more. Especially, if you are not asked for a definition, you do not have to give one.
- I deemed at least one of the multiple-choice questions proposed by you to be a suitable question for the exam.
- Also, the first page of the exam document contains a table of exam questions along with the number of points that they are worth. While this is not helpful at all when preparing for the exam, I guess that some of you will find it interesting to look at. :)
